Moulahidoun

Project Title:
Moulahidoun Project
Project Location:
Souss-Massa Region – Morocco
Project Duration:
From April 2021 to October 2021
Project Overview:
This project supports the communal, regional, and legislative elections held on September 8, 2021, through an approach based on objective and multidimensional observation. It relies on precise mechanisms for both field and online monitoring, contributing to enhanced transparency, integrity, and smooth conduct of the electoral process across the provinces, prefectures, and communes of the Souss-Massa region.
The project builds on the accumulated experience of the Forum of Competencies for Development and Democracy in monitoring previous electoral events, notably the 2015 communal and regional elections and the 2016 legislative elections. The findings and recommendations from previous observation reports were used as references to improve monitoring and evaluation tools for the 2021 elections.
To achieve its objectives, the project mobilizes a wide range of qualified human resources, including university professors, local observers, and civil society actors. It also relies on comprehensive material and logistical resources to ensure wide field coverage of polling stations, integrating modern digital tools for real-time data collection and analysis.
This initiative aims to go beyond the traditional role of electoral observation by actively contributing to the promotion of participatory democracy and encouraging public debate on the quality of the electoral process, through the production of analytical reports and practical recommendations that help improve the electoral system and restore citizens’ trust in elected institutions.
General Objective of the Project:
To monitor and assess the various electoral events in the Souss-Massa region through the production of analytical reports including observations and recommendations that enhance the transparency and quality of the electoral process.
