Project Overview:
“Women Participating in Local Governance in the Prefecture of Agadir Ida Outanane” is a project aimed at strengthening the capacities of elected women in local councils, while contributing to promoting their participation in political life and local governance. The project is implemented by the Forum of Competencies for Development and Democracy, in partnership with the Prefectural Council of Agadir Ida Outanane and Success Universe Center, with financial support from the Support Fund for the Promotion of Women’s Representation.
The project is based on organizing awareness activities, training sessions, and dialogue meetings with political elites, civil society actors, and advisory bodies, with the goal of affirming women’s rights in monitoring and evaluating public and local policies within the prefecture. It also seeks to highlight women’s representation in all programs and plans implemented by public institutions and elected bodies, through a participatory approach that integrates women as key actors in local development and participatory democracy.
The project targets a wide range of women, whether they live in urban areas, marginalized popular neighborhoods, or remote mountainous regions, aiming to ensure territorial inclusiveness and promote political empowerment for women in all their diversity.
Overall Goal of the Project:
- To contribute to enhancing women’s participation in the management of local public affairs in the prefecture of Agadir Ida Outanane.
